    Such series SPD are applicable to the protection of the sensitive communications lines such as computer network device, exchanger, router, HUB, MODEN, etc. For the purpose of preventing them from being damaged by the overvoltage, power supply interference and static discharge current that is caused by the lightning strike.

Such series SPD has lots of excellent characteristics, such as low residual voltage, small fading, quick response, convenient installation and large discharge current capacity. It has two classes protection, and the first class is relatively high residual voltage protection for residual voltage leakage, and the second class is relatively low residual voltage protection for clamp. The two protection classes make the SPD operated by coupling.

3. Installation Method and Attentions

1. Confirm the interface and connecting way.

2. SPD must be wired in series between signal channel and the protected device.

3. The input (IN) of the lightning protector shall be connected with the signal channel, and the output (OUT) shall be with the protected device. They can’t be confused.

4. The grounding shall be reliable and the earth line shall be as short, coarse and straight as possible for purpose of reducing the influence of distributed electric inductance on the discharge of thunder & lightning.

5. No special maintenance is needed for the lightning protector. In case of a fault during the operation, the lightning protector can be dismantled. After that, if the system is operated normally, it is necessary to replace the lightning protector.
